I don't think it's necessary to wait. It's perfectly reasonable to nag right from the first mulligan. "What? A mulligan? So writing is some sort of *game* to you?"

Like that.

I'm back from walking a friend's dog --- said friend having left the country to tend to her mother in the hospital. Now, on to a fable about a rabbit and a puma.
